I have never been a very organized person, which is strange because I love organization gadgets. Given unlimited funds I would have journals, planners, fancy file boxes, post-it notes in every color and shape, you get the idea. If I used half of what I have to its full effectiveness I’d be dangerous. The one thing that keeps me on track is accountability. I journal every night; nothing interesting, just a list of what I did during the day. It’s sort of a reverse to do list.
The accountability is what I love about NaNoWriMo. I have to write consistently. I decided to keep going since the book is not finished, but I haven’t been doing very well so far. In my defense I have worked two extra shifts because Vicky has a bad cold. As of today I’m 3,750 words behind. I haven’t written this week.
I’m not too concerned. I can make it up. Tomorrow starts a new week. For tonight, I think I’m going to read through the last couple of chapters. There was something in there that wasn’t sitting right and if I can find it, I can get the words flowing again. If I have trouble, well, I still have some work to do on the blanket for my grandcat.
If any of you writers out there have tips on how to keep the momentum going, I’d love to hear them.
