Yes, I’m still around. We’re still confined to public terminals, but still here and getting over the jet lag. We’re settling in as much as we can and planning a trip to Mom’s in the next week or so. Yeah! I get to be home for the county fair for the first time in, um, well, since I left home. I’ll just leave it at that!

I’ve learned yet again that God has a sense of humor. I was in IL for tech school MANY years ago, and I remember that summertime was hot. Granted, I was further east and not on the bank of the Mississippi, but it was hot and humid. I packed accordingly: shorts, tank tops, and t-shirts with a couple pairs of jeans and a sweatshirt just in case. What have I been wearing? My jeans and sweatshirt. It’s 68 here today! I’m shivering! I love it! After all those years of roasting to death, I’m finally in a climate I like, at least for however long this lasts. The better news is that our unaccompanied baggage is here and can be delivered to our temporary housing. We’ll have to store some of it before we go to Mom’s, but that’s ok. I have more jeans and long sleeve shirts in there! 🙂 I’m a happy girl.

I’ll be happier in a little while. After I get some more coffee…
